Peer Review Post Challenge
Dear Providers,
The LGA Peer Challenge team has now completed their review of ASC and we wanted to share some of their initial feedback with you.
- The team recognised that we know ourselves and are ambitious for our people, place and partnerships – where we encounter challenges, we focus on solutions
- They noted the strength of many of our local relationships as well as our partnership approach to prevention
- We have some very good practice and performance in a number of areas, including how we safeguard people. They also noted that we are focused on continually developing our strengths-based practice which we will continue to take forward.
Over the coming weeks we will receive the full report and will use this to prioritise improvements to our services. This has been a great learning opportunity for us all to reflect on how we work together and to prepare for our CQC Assurance.
We look forward to continuing to work together with you and our staff, partners, providers and residents to keep people safe from harm and meet their needs for care and support in a way that focuses on their strengths.
Kind regards,
Nick Ireland
Strategic Director of People Services
Sutton Community Fund
The Sutton Community Fund is a grant funding programme financed by Sutton Council with administered by Community Action Sutton. Each application is assessed and grants are awarded by an independent panel.
Do you have an idea for a small and community focused project that would benefit Sutton residents and meet local priorities?
Your group could apply for up to £5000!
Need to know…
- Applications for grants from £500 to a maximum of £5,000 will be accepted.
- Only voluntary and community groups and organisations with an income of less than £100,000 can apply.
- The funding is for a maximum of 12 months unless it is a multi-year bid and then it is 3 years with a grant of up to a maximum of £10,000
This year the independent panel are focusing on the following key areas:
- Cost of living – the project helps people to deal with the rising cost of living, particularly groups or communities who are more likely to be affected.
- An inclusive place for everyone – the project promotes equality, diversity and inclusion; this could be through delivering support for specific groups to reduce disadvantages, or taking actions to bring diverse communities together to make positive change or solve a problem.
- Action on climate change – the project promotes or delivers positive actions to reduce carbon emissions in Sutton and encourages people to adopt more sustainable behaviours (e.g. cycling, walking, recycling, reuse etc.).
Aviva and mixed-use developer, Socius are leading the development of the world’s leading district for cancer research and treatment at the London Cancer Hub in Sutton, London.
The proposals include new research facilities and on-site amenities, with the vision of creating a nurturing environment for collaboration, connectivity, and innovation.
As part of the ambitions of the London Cancer Hub, the team wants to think local, be sustainable and make a genuinely positive impact. Key to this commitment is supporting organisations, charities and groups locally.
The team is committing £14,000 towards the Sutton Community Fund to help deliver change within local communities. This will be allocated through the Community Fund Panel and will help deliver social, environmental and economic benefits to Sutton.
The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Monday 9th September
Please send applications to [email protected]
