Forecast issued by the Met Office on behalf of UKHSA on Monday, 04, August, 2025 at 07:51
Overview of hot weather over the next 5 days
Storm Floris tracking east across northern Scotland on Monday will bring widely windy conditions and a band of occasionally heavy rain across England. Thereafter, generally more settled conditions developing through the middle part of the week before an Atlantic weather front moves east, weakening and probably becoming slow-moving across southern England. Temperatures mostly around average, a little below at times toward the northwest. Currently temperatures are expected to remain below Low impact thresholds.
Overview of hot weather over the next 6 to 15 days
High pressure is more likely to be dominant than low pressure, leading to drier, warmer and generally settled conditions being more prevalent overall. Temperatures are expected to trend above average with an increased likelihood of very warm/hot spells, especially toward the south and east.
Overview of hot weather over the next 16 to 30 days
Lowering confidence due to increasing uncertainty at this range. However, high pressure is currently assessed as more likely to be dominant than low pressure for the second half of August into the start of September. Therefore, predominantly dry conditions are more probable for most parts with occasional shorter unsettled periods. Above average temperatures overall are most likely, with the potential for hot spells to develop, especially in the east and south.
