Overview of hot weather over the next 5 days
Warm and humid conditions persist across much of the country over the next few days, though the weather will turn increasingly unsettled, with periods of rain or showers—some of which may be heavy and thundery. Temperatures will peak on Friday, reaching 28C to 30C for many central and eastern areas, with local highs of 31C to 32C possible in the east. Somewhat cooler over the weekend and into next week, but maximums into the low to mid 20’s are possible in sunnier areas. This period will also be categorised by warm and muggy nights, with minimum temperatures into the mid-high teens for many.
Overview of hot weather over the next 6 to 15 days
A changeable period is likely, featuring a mix of showers or longer spells of rain—some of which could be heavy and thundery—interspersed with drier and brighter intervals. While temperatures are not expected to reach the recent highs, they will likely remain above average. There is still a risk of temperature thresholds being exceeded during any settled spells.
Overview of hot weather over the next 16 to 30 days
Likely changeable going into August, but then there are some early signs for high pressure to return towards the middle of the month, bringing more settled and drier conditions, although confidence on this currently remains low. Above average temperatures remain most likely throughout, with very warm or hot spells possible, especially across the East and southeast, these more probably towards mid–August.
