Overview of hot weather over the next 5 days

A shift to a fresher, more changeable weather pattern is underway in the north, with bands of rain giving way to a mix of sunshine and occasional showers. As a result, temperatures will generally trend closer to, or slightly below, the seasonal average. However, across much of the East Midlands, East of England, Southeast, and London, daytime temperatures are expected to remain in the mid-20s °C—perhaps as much as 26–27°C—on Friday and Saturday. These areas will also experience humid nights, with overnight temperatures mostly in the mid-teens. This may locally meet the low-impact threshold briefly, though it is unlikely to be widespread.

Overview of hot weather over the next 6 to 15 days

A region of high pressure will tentatively build from the southwest during this period, bringing dry and settled conditions in the south and east. Any rain will tend to focus on the north or northwest of the country. Temperatures are likely to remain close to, perhaps a little below average initially. However through the second half of the week and especially the following weekend there are signs that temperatures will begin to trend up, becoming warm or very warm once again, especially across southern parts of the UK, but perhaps more widely as we head toward the middle of July.

Overview of hot weather over the next 16 to 30 days

Changeable conditions are expected to persist into mid-July, with a predominant northwest–southeast split in both temperature and rainfall. Occasional hot spells and thundery outbreaks remain possible during this period. However, a gradual shift toward more settled and generally drier weather is likely through the second half of the month. Temperatures are expected to trend above average overall, with the highest likelihood of very warm or hot spells in southern and southeastern areas.
