New e-learning tool puts prevention first in social care Discover more about a new e-learning resource in this recent blog from the Chief Nurse for Adult Social Care, Deborah Sturdy, and Professor Jamie Waterall. This innovative tool has been developed in collaboration with the Department of Health and Social Care, the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities and the Royal Society of Public Health. It is designed to help colleagues enhance their expertise and confidence in applying public health approaches in adult social care settings. With a focus on crucial areas including Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), mental health, and healthy ageing, this resource delivers practical advice and suggestions on how to embed these approaches. Peace of mind for families and care teams Research shows that actively involving people who use care services in care planning is a big priority for managers, staff and families. Studies were conducted on behalf of the Digitising Social Care Programme and featured responses from over 200 people in Devon. Families also reported they were keen to access the ‘family portal’ features of Digital Social Care Records (DSCRs), allowing them to keep up-to-date on aspects of their loved ones’ lives, including their medical support, daily activities, and more general emotional state. DSCRs are software solutions to record a person’s care information. This allows staff and families to share data and reduce time on admin tasks, improving safety and quality of care records and providing person-centred care. Read more |

This teach-in will cover how to become a sponsor, how to comply with requirements and the evidence needed to support applications for Certificates of Sponsorship.
