The London Borough of Sutton has launched a new Dynamic Purchasing System to commission all forms of children’s care and care leavers placements over the next five years. Apply now to ensure your organisation is considered for individual placement referrals and strategic placement commissioning competitions in the future.  We are ambitious for the children and young people in our care and with experience of care.  In support of our new 0 – 25 Children and Young People Placement Strategy, we are looking for partners to work with us to deliver and strengthen the London Borough of Sutton’s successful accommodation and support offer for children and young people in our care and for our care-experienced young people. Our newly updated 2022 – 2027 0-25 Children and Young People Placement Strategy sets out our vision: To secure good quality, local provision of placements, accommodation and support informed by our children and young people, which offers choice and makes best use of available resources.  This month, we have launched a new Dynamic Purchasing System which will be used to commission both individual placements and to run competitions to establish key strategic partnerships with providers to address identified gaps in our placement offer.  We are keen to work with providers that are passionate about delivering improved outcomes for children and young people, providing them with the homes and support to grow up in a loving community and achieve their full potential.  We are looking for partners that can both help us to deliver an agile, responsive and connected care pathway system which meets the needs of our children and young people and also work with us to address identified gaps in our local provision.  In return, Sutton Council can offer its partners:

  • A commitment to embedding partnership working and market dialogue in the management and development of care placement offers
  • Opportunities to engage in strategic placement sufficiency dialogue and competitions
  • A comprehensive and constructive quality improvement function to inform continuous improvement of provision
  • A comprehensive training offer provided by Sutton Local Safeguarding Children’s Partnership
  • A joined up 0 to 25 corporate parenting practice approach to support successful placement transitions

What next?  If you are a care placement provider (i.e. residential care, IFAs, parent and baby residential centres), apply now to join our “0 – 25 Children and Young People Care Placement DPS”.  If you are a semi-independent accommodation provider, please ensure you are registered with Pro Contract now. We will be launching additional lots on our “0 – 25 Children and Young People Care Placement DPS” for both 16 – 17 years and 18+ years semi-independent accommodation provision in the coming months.  The registration process for Pro Contract is simple, free and should take no more than 5 minutes. Once registered, as a Supplier you will receive email updates on new contract opportunities issued by the public sector that match your capabilities.  You can register by visiting the London Tenders Procontract – Supplier Registration website. Please apply by 5pm, 10 March.
