Sutton Sports inclusion group

The Sports Inclusion Group brings together local charities, sports providers, council commissioners and others with an interest in promoting the involvement of disabled people in sporting activities.  The group has 2 particular areas it focuses on: 1) sharing information on sports and physical activities for disabled people and 2) identifying and overcoming barriers to participation.  If anyone wants to be part of the group, please email [email protected]

Digital Paths to Inclusion campaigning

The DPI project aims to support people with a learning disability to use digital technology to have a stronger voice through films, podcasts and a digital newsletter https://www.suttonmencap.org.uk/oursuttonmagazine/issue01/

The project is always keen to take on issues around barriers to inclusion, highlighting the day to day experiences of people with a learning disability.  If this is an interest to any of your members and their residents, they are welcome to contact Toni Baldwin, project manager: [email protected] for more information.

We are always happy to share information about our activities as well as those of other organisations.  We tend to use our Facebook page as a simple way of getting information out quickly to people who are interested.  If you don’t have access to facebook, we also post summaries on our newspage:  https://www.suttonmencap.org.uk/news/
