Dear providers,

As you are aware there is currently an exemption clause within the latest guidance which permits asymptomatic staff who are asked to self-isolate due to contact with a positive case. This exemption should ideally be authorised by any senior member of your organisation (e.g. director of care, director of IPC etc…), however if that is not possible then the local authority may also grant exemptions.

We have created a risk assessment tool which should help you in working through the eligibility process – this is available here. As explained we would strongly advise that the risk assessment and the decision is done and authorised by someone senior within your organisation given you are best placed to know the pressures on your service.

In the event however that you cannot receive authorisation from someone in your organisation, the sector leads within LBS will be able to authorise exemptions. Simply submit the form once complete and one of the sector leads will respond.
