DESCRIPTION:The RESTORE 2 training is now starting. It is so important that staff attend. \nRESTORE2™ is a physical deterioration and escalation tool for community settings\, including care homes and domiciliary care. It is designed to support people to: \n\nrecognise when a person may be deteriorating or at risk of physical deterioration\nact appropriately according to the person’s care plan\nobtain a complete set of vital signs to inform escalation and conversations speak with the most appropriate health professional in a timely way\nprovide an escalation history to health professionals to support professional decision making.\n\nTo commence the process each Care Home should identify two staff members to be Champions and attend training. All training is half a day at Civic Offices in Sutton. There are limited numbers for each session due to social distancing. SUMMARY:National Safeguarding Awareness Week\, SSAB Conference
DESCRIPTION:The Sutton Safeguarding Adults Board (SSAB) is celebrating National Safeguarding Awareness Week in November 2020 as per the guidance set by the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS). \nIn view of the current climate\, the SSAB will be hosting all these events virtually from 16-20 November. Rather than having the conference and all the presentations on a single day\, as the event is to be virtual\, the sessions will be spread across the whole week. \nIncorporated within this will be a series of webinars and interactive activities including breakout groups to promote further discussion. There will be a greater emphasis on the voice of the service user throughout these sessions and there will be service user and carer representation incorporated within the programme. \nView the sessions and book here

SUMMARY:Infection prevention and control training
DESCRIPTION:Face to face training: \n2 hour sessions are being held at Sutton Civic offices every Tuesday\, Thursday and Friday afternoons throughout November\, December and January and will continue through February if the demand is there. 2 hour slots can be booked between 12pm and 5pm to provide greatest flexibility. \nThe 2 hr session covers: \n\nHow does COVID-19 spread?\nHand hygiene\nWearing the right PPE for the job\nHow to ‘Don’ PPE appropriately\nHow to ‘Doff’ safely\nWaste management\n\nAll places must be booked through Sarah Brown via email as we are limited to eight people per session in order to maintain the 2m social distancing recommendations. \nVirtual training: \nWe are also offering virtual training via microsoft teams\, covering the same topics\, lead by a dedicated Infection Prevention Control Nurse. SUMMARY:Care Homes Q&A Session
DESCRIPTION:We will be holding a weekly Q&A session for all Care Home Providers\, every Wednesday 4 – 5pm\, via google meet. The session will give you an opportunity to ask questions and discuss situations arising due to COVID-19. The session is optional\, and you can drop in and out of the session as you are available. We will be compiling a Q&A log for the session which will be circulated in the following Care Home Newsletter.\n\n\nIf you have any questions you would like to share in advance of the session please send to asc.providercomms@sutton.gov.uk and mark FOR Q&A LOG. Questions may be asked during the session which have not been submitted in advance\, however please note we may need to come back to you with an answer at a later date.
