Information and guidance on COVID-19 testing for Supported Living and Housing with Care providers

Regular COVID-19 testing

Testing in extra care and supported living settings

There are 2 different national testing programmes available for extra care and supported living settings. Referred to as:

  • ‘high risk settings’
  • ‘wider settings’

High risk extra care and supported living settings:

  • Staff testing: Daily LFD (on days they are working)
  • Resident testing: Monthly PCR testing

Wider extra care and supported living settings:

  • Staff testing: Daily LFD (on days they are working)

Extra Care and Supported Living Providers not eligible for regular testing

Please follow the process you are currently following, outlined below:

If someone is displaying symptoms of COVID-19, this is a suspected case and you should do the following; 

  • Report to LCRC as soon as a case is suspected. They will undertake an initial risk assessment, provide advice and may offer testing.

If you are not offered testing by PHE LCRC, apply for testing for anyone with symptoms via; Getting tested for coronavirus (COVID-19) – GOV.UK.

Report all results

If a positive case is identified, please report to PHE LCRC
