The new rapid COVID-19 tests (also known as lateral flow devices or LFD tests) can identify people who might have the virus without symptoms and be carrying and spreading it without realising. Rapid tests are one of the new tools that are being used to help detect and fight COVID-19 and keep Sutton safe.

There is a rapid testing site at the Civic Centre in Sutton. It is now open to all staff in the London Borough of Sutton to book a regular weekly test.

Rapid test appointments can be booked online. The Civic Centre site is open weekdays between 8.00am-8.00pm (Monday-Friday).

Please be aware that lateral flow tests are for people who do not have symptoms of coronavirus and have not received a positive test for COVID-19 within the last 90 days. They are a self-administered nose and throat swab and this short video explains how the testing process works

It is important to remember that messages about HANDS, FACE and SPACE remain crucial and that anyone who develops coronavirus symptoms should isolate at HOME. If you or any of your staff have coronavirus symptoms, you should not take a rapid test and instead should book a PCR test online at nhs.uk/coronavirus or by calling 119.

To support people who test positive for COVID-19 and need to self isolate, the government has introduced a Test and Trace support payment. To find out more about the eligibility criteria and how to claim, visit the Council’s website.
