ASC Infection Control Fund
Update on the ASC Infection Control Fund.
Over £2 million has been allocated to over 100 providers in the first phase of the ASC Infection Control Fund.
The primary purpose of this fund is to support adult social care providers, to reduce the rate of COVID-19 transmission in and between care homes and support wider workforce resilience. The first wave of the Infection Control fund has been shared with and utilised by our providers.

Due to the success of the ASC Infection Control Fund in limiting the transmission of COVID-19 within and between care settings, the Adult Social Care Infection Control Fund has been extended until March 2021, with an extra £546 million of funding. This is a new grant, with revised conditions from the original Infection Control Fund. It brings the total ringfenced funding for infection prevention and control to £1.146 billion.
The funding will be paid in 2 tranches. The first will be paid to local authorities on 1 October 2020. The second tranche will be paid in December 2020.
